It’s almost time for your signing of South Carolina documents that must be notarized. Review this for some helpful information on how to sign documents remotely.
Please be sure to:
Print out the documents to be executed.
Everyone who is signing should be present at the same time unless prior arrangements have been made to have multiple signings.
Many estate planning documents, including deeds and financial powers of attorney must be signed in front of a Notary Public. Please make arrangements to visit a notary with enough time to sign, have the documents scanned in, and then deliver the signed package to the Fed Ex drop box or shipping center. Most escrow offices, banks, and Fed Ex stores have notaries. You should call in advance to confirm and verify if you need an appointment.
If you will be overnighting original documents back to our office, please scan and email a copy of the documents prior to sending so we can review your documents for complete, accurate execution.
This is an example of how to properly execute a South Carolina deed.
